  • Four steps to use it and check the result
  • Thursday replaced Friday
  • A matching PDF to keep or print

The prompt and your next check

Replace the brackets with your own details. Read the result before you use it.

The Context Reset Prompt

Before doing more work, restate my current goal and list the details you are using. For each important detail, point to the message or source available in this conversation that supports it. Flag conflicts, missing information and anything you cannot verify. Do not fill gaps with guesses. Wait for me to confirm or correct the summary before continuing.

A conversation that seems to be carrying forward an old date, assumption or plan.

Apply the correction

Update the working summary with these corrections: [list them]. Keep anything still unknown marked unknown. Restate the corrected plan and wait for my confirmation.

The current dinner plan is Thursday at 6 PM for four people. Friday is an old date. Allergies have not been confirmed. A useful summary keeps Thursday, 6 PM and four people, and leaves allergies as unknown instead of assuming there are none.

How to use it

  1. Pause the next task

Ask for the goal and details before requesting another draft or plan.

  2. Compare with your source

Check the summary against the actual message, document or calendar. Do not take the summary itself as proof.

  3. Correct what changed

State the replacement clearly: “Use Thursday at 6 PM. Friday is the old date.”

  4. Confirm the next answer

Check that the correction appears in the next result. If the chat cannot use a source, provide the relevant excerpt again.
