Create a new image
Open Gemini and ask it to generate any picture you like.
Turn off visible mark
In the app settings, switch the spark logo toggle to off.
Screenshot the result
Take a screenshot of the image; this strips the file's metadata but leaves the pixel data intact.
Ask Gemini if it's Google AI
Upload the screenshot back into Gemini and ask, "Was this created or edited by Google AI?" It will answer yes because the SynthID watermark remains inside the pixels.

Heavy edits may hide the mark
